Steve Faulkner is a hiker, skier, mountain biker, kayaker, and photographer who lived and worked in Newfoundland and Labrador for more than a decade. Originally from Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, he first went to Newfoundland in 1988 as a field geologist, to work primarily around the Great Northern Peninsula. It was there that his deep appreciation for the natural beauty of “The Rock” first formed. When the opportunity presented itself several years later, Faulkner jumped at the chance to move back to the province as an RCMP officer; he was fortunate to have postings in the east, west, and central regions of Newfoundland and in Labrador, during which he sought out many of its great waterfalls.
