View Exhibits & Displays at NLPL Branches & Virtually
Celebrating Local Talent
Free exhibitions & displays happen at many NLPL branches. These can highlight the work of local creatives with connections to the community or region, including visual artists and writers. Current and ongoing in-library displays include:
Celebrating Ray Guy
This permanent exhibit at Arnold’s Cove Public Library features the works of author and humorist Ray Guy (1939-2013), who grew up in the community. It includes also a memorial bench outside.
Local Artist Exhibits
Lewisporte, Clarenville, Stephenville, and Holyrood Public Libraries feature exhibits of works by area artists, on a rotational basis.
Marcus Gosse Exhibit
This ongoing exhibit of work by celebrated Indigenous artist Marcus Gosse can be viewed at Corner Brook Public Library.
Placentia Area Girl Guides
This permanent exhibit at Placentia Public Library includes historic items and photos from Girl Guide groups in the area. Gertrude Sullivan, long-time librarian at the branch, was a dedicated Guider and community volunteer.
Remembering Dr. Noel Murphy
This permanent display at Norris Point Public Library recognizes the life and contribution of Dr. Noel Murphy (1915-2005), whose varied career included directing the Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital from 1945 to 1954.
