About NLPL
The Provincial Information and Library Resources Board (PILRB) oversees operation of Newfoundland and Labrador’s provincial public library system. Established in 1935, NL Public Libraries (NLPL) provides public library services through a network of 94 locations throughout the province, outreach activities such as Books by Mail, and our Digital Library. With a valid NLPL library card, our users can borrow materials from any NLPL location, participate in library programs, use public computers, and access digital and virtual services remotely.
Vision
A public library system providing access to a full range of library services to everyone supporting personal growth and life-long learning while engaging and connecting with people and communities.
