Learn More About Books by Mail
What is Books by Mail?
Books by Mail is a free service for NLPL cardholders who live in remote locations and cannot visit one of our 94 library locations. This service lets you borrow books, magazines, audiobooks, music and movies by mail (shipped via Canada Post) and return them using the postage paid label included with each order. There is no cost to you. Books by Mail allows you to select titles yourself online or have staff select titles for you, based on your interests and reading habits. The typical lending period for items borrowed by mail is 6 weeks.
Who is eligible for Books by Mail?
Anyone who loves to read and lives more than 24 km (15 miles) from any NLPL location is eligible to receive Books by Mail. Educators working in remote locations who want to borrow materials for classroom use are also eligible for this service.
