 Join local author Vicki Hallett as she reads, and talks about her new book, ‘Dear Mr. Smallwood Confederation in the Words of Those Who Lived It’. Vicki Hallett’s  work focuses on life writing, feminist and postcolonial studies, and the intersection of identity and place in Newfoundland and Labrador. this book was co-edited by Sonja Boon & Vicki Hallett There will be a Q&A to conclude the talk.

This book reflects on the experiences and narratives of ordinary Newfoundlanders and Labradorians as they faced what may have been the most significant political change of their lives: the incorporation of Newfoundland into Confederation with Canada. The stories are conveyed through the letters addressed to J.R. Smallwood.
