Unmasking Bias : Writer’s NL LOLA Workshop

February 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Classes and Workshops events photo. People are sitting at tables and using computers in a classroom-like setting.

February is LOLA (Love Our Local Authors) month at NLPL.

This engaging session empowers writers to explore how personal biases influence their perspectives and creative processes while fostering a deeper understanding of inclusive leadership in literary and collaborative spaces. Participants will identify and reflect on their unconscious biases, uncovering how these might shape character development, narrative voice, or team dynamics in writing communities.

Through thought-provoking activities, group discussions, and actionable strategies, writers will learn how to embrace diverse perspectives, promote equity, and lead with authenticity. Whether you’re crafting stories, collaborating with fellow writers, or mentoring others, this session equips you to cultivate inclusivity and create impactful narratives that resonate with broader audiences.
